[ Characters ]
------------------------------
***********************************************************

--- [ Auron ] ---

You first meet this guy in the beginning of the game. He's a rather cloaked
person with a matching personality. His fighting skills however are not a
mystery. He's a very capable player to carry the load and definately reliable
in most boss battles.

- [ Overdrive: Bushido ] -

Auron's Overdrives require quick button motions and such to perform. To
advance his Overdrive status you must collect Jecht Spheres, Auron Sphere,
and Braska's Sphere.

- Dragon Fang [ Down, Left, Up, Right, L1, R1, O, X ] -

Hits all opponents. Starts initially with this.

- Shooting Star [ Triangle, Circle, Square, X, Left, Right, X-

Hits one opponent. Needs 1 sphere to acquire.

- Banishing Blade [ Up, L1, Down, R1, Right, Left, Triangle ] -

Hits one opponent with Power Break, Mental Break, Magic Break, and Armor
Break status ailments. Requires 3 spheres.

- Tornado -

Hits all opponents. Requires all 10 Spheres.

Below are the loaction of each Sphere. You won't get his first Sphere until
somewhat late in the game.

Jecht Sphere 1 - Boss of Macalania Forest
Jecht Sphere 2 - Besaid Temple at right
Jecht Sphere 3 - S.S. Liki, on the bridge
Jecht Sphere 4 - Luca Stadium, first basement
Jecht Sphere 5 - Mi'ihen Highroad, Oldroad, South
Auron's Sphere - Mushroom Rock Road
Jecht Sphere 6 - South Wharf on Moonflow
Jecht Sphere 7 - Thunder Plains
Jecht Sphere 8 - South part of Macalania Forest
Braska's Sphere - Mt.Gagazet Mountain Trial

*****************************************************************************

--- [ Kimahri ] ---

Not big on words, but makes up for it on the battle field. His Lancet ability
allows him to drain MP and HP from his opponents. This is a very useful
attack early on, but as you can expect, it doesn't do much damage.

- [ Overdrive: Ronso Rage ] -

Kimahri's Overdrive consists of you learning attacks from opponents using the
Lancet ability on them. However, Kimahri doesn't have many attacks on his
Overdrive so you won't get a new ability each time you use the Lancet attack.

NOTE: Check the enemy list at the end of the guide for monster abilities

Jump(Default, jump attack at the enemy, like previous FF's)
Fire Breath(Fire breath attack against all opponents)
Seed Cannon(Earth attack against one opponent)
Self-Destruct(Sacrifice one's life for painful damage against one opponent)
Aqua Breath(Water attack against all opponents)
Doom(Casts Doom on one opponent, will die immediately or in several rounds)
White Wind(Heal party with significant HP)
Stone Breath(Potentially turn all opponents into stone)
Nova(Powerful non-element attack against all opponents)
Bad Breath(Hit opponent with every status effect in the book)
Mighty Guard(Casts NulTide, NulFrost, NulFlame, NulShock, Protect, and Shell)

*****************************************************************************

--- [ Lulu ] ---

Guardian of Yuna and master of black magic. She's not very emotional and is
good at hiding her feelings, but she is a strong willed character that has
a lot of sense of things around her.

- [ Overdrive: Fury ] -

Her Overdrive consists of casting multiple magic spells against an opponent
without expending any MP and Reflect or Shell status will not protect against
this Overdrive. She can use this even when she is silenced. You will have to
rotate the RIGHT analog stick clockwise several times(initially it's one full
rotation per usage, then when it reaches 4 it requires 1.5 full rotations,
then when it reaches 7 or more it needs 2 full rotations to add another spell
usage) to determine how many times she will cast a certain spell. That's for
spells from Fire to Blizzaga. For spells from Bio to Flare it takes about
2-2.5 rotations for each turn to build up after you have 3 casts up, and
initially it takes about 1-1.5 rotations. For Ultima it takes about 2.5-3
rotations per turn and then 4 rotations for 4 casts and over and then 5-6
rotations for turns 6 casts and over.

The
following list are spells that she can use during this Overdrive. Note that
while it will hit random enemies, the full effect and potential of the magic
does about 1/4 to 1/3 the total damage that it normally would do.

Fire, Water, Thunder, Blizzard, Fira, Watera, Thundara, Blizzara, Firaga,
Wateraga, Thundaga, Blizzaga, Bio, Demi, Death, Drain, Osmose, Flare, Ultima

*****************************************************************************

--- [ Rikku ] ---

Rikku is pretty much another Yuffie or Selphie, but she has a better handle
on situations and is a little more emotional than her FF counterparts. She
isn't much of a fighter and her biggest strength doesn't lie within her
abilities, rather the items that you can acquire with her. She can steal
rare items and bribe opponents.

- [ Overdrive: Mix ] -

Her Overdrive chart is enormous. When you have the Overdrive started you
will be prompted to select two items to mix. You can mix any two items in
your inventory(except for equipment) and you can mix two of the same item
for possibly double the effect to get various results. It's usefulness
depends on what items you mix, and more importantly, what items you had to
begin with. The entire mix list(which is HUGE) can be found near the bottom
of this guide.

*****************************************************************************

--- [ Tidus ] ---

Tidus, that game's main character, is your down to Earth kinda guy. He
realizes the situation around him and has tremendous courage. He's not the
most balanced character in the game, but he probably is more balanced than
others. He's a little more agile than Kimahri, yet weaker than Auron, and
doesn't even come close to having the magic powers of Yuna. He's not really
a fighter, but a strategist. He won't impress you with his stats, but you'll
probably be impressed by how much he can mean to the party's victory.

- [ Overdrive: Swordplay ] -

His Overdrive is a unique one. A meter will run once the Overdrive starts and
if you can press "X" when the guage hits the middle bar, you'll deal extra
damage. However, for every unsuccessful try the damage done is weakened by a
point statistically. You can gain the next Overdrive as you perform them in
succession.

Spiral Cut(damage against one opponent, initially begins with this)
Slice & Dice(hits six times, all for half damage each hit against random
opponents, must use previous Overdrive 10 times to acquire)
Energy Rain(hits all opponents, must use previous Overdrives 30 times to
acquire)
Blitz Ace(hits all opponents, must use previous Overdrives 80 times to
acquire)

*****************************************************************************

--- [ Wakka ] ---

A longtime Blitzball veteran, and Yuna's guardian, Wakka can sometimes be
a little blind when it comes to common sense and his faith in Yevon. He is
obviously a very religious individual, and although it can anger his party
members around him at times, there isn't anybody else you wouldn't want to
have on your side when the stakes are high. He's by far not the most powerful
of attackers, and by far not the weakest of attackers. His stats are average,
but his special abilities to inflict Silence, and Dark status early on is
invaluable. His Blitzball is the most accurate weapon in the game, even
though in real life it's less accurate to throw a ball at someone from a
distance than it is to swing with your fists or other weapons.

- [ Overdrive: Slots ] -

Obtaining Wakka's other Overdrives can be a bit of a problem. You must win
Blitzball tournaments and in-league games to acquire his other Overdrives.
Personally I don't find Wakka very useful in the game. It takes entirely
too long to develop him into a powerhouse or even a decent powerhouse and
his magic is poor. The Slots are much as you can expect from the name,
it's in a slot-esque type of Overdrive where you press X at the right time
to get certain effects from your Blitzball. If you land all 3 of the same
slots, then you will perform that certain attack(say you land a Sleep
attack on all 3) on all opponents. If you only match 2 then you will perform
two of that attack against one opponent. If you mismatch all 3 slots then
you will perform a physical attack against one opponent(random), but the
attack does twice as much damage as normal.

Attack Reels(multiple physical attacks, doing half damage)
Aurochs Reels(a combination of elemental and status effects)
Element Reels(elemental effects)
Status Reels(negative status effects)

*****************************************************************************

--- [ Yuna ] ---

A summoner who is determined to defeat Sin. She knows her fate that comes
with her task ahead, but she won't do it alone. With 6 guardians and a will
that drives all, you'd be hard pressed to bet against her. Yuna's magic is
almost double of that of Lulu's...so teaching her Fire and Blizzard early
on can do as much damage as Lulu's Fira or Blizzara. Raising the stats of
Yuna is critical to the success of her summons as the stats of her summons
rise concurrent with Yuna's stats. Although Yuna's strength may be very weak,
her summons can deal out tremendous physical damage. So if you had even
Wakka's strength(who is very average in terms of strength), your Summons
can do 5000 to 9999 for every physical attack that they perform.

- [ Overdrive: Grand Summon ] -

This Overdrive involves Yuna very little. When she hits Overdrive mode she
can summon any one of her Aeons and that Aeon will automatically be in
Overdrive mode. However, once you use that Overdrive for that certain Aeon
the Aeon's previous Overdrive goes back to it's original state, which means
that you can cast two consecutive Oblivions. Ouch.

*****************************************************************************
--------------------------------- [ Aeons ] ---------------------------------
*****************************************************************************

Aeons in this game have taken a new change from any previous Final Fantasy
games you have ever played. A page has been taken from Final Fantasy VIII,
but not only do they take damage in battle, they take damage because they
participate in battle like a party member.

When you summon an Aeon you are given a series of special abilities to use,
magic, the aeon's special attack, regular attack, and of course the
Overdrive. It's not hard to figure out how to use an Aeon, but keep in mind
that Aeons' lose their Overdrive completely when their HP is depleted.
You cannot restore any of the Aeons' HP unless you go to a save point and
your Aeons cannot interact with your characters.

NOTE: The first 5 summons(Valefor, Ifrit, Ixion, Shiva, and Bahamut) is
acquired throughout the course of the game. The other 3 are acquired
through side areas.

---------------------------------
[ Anima ]
---------------------------------

Anima is pretty much the strongest
--------------------------------
[ Bahamut ]
--------------------------------

Bahamut can deal 9999 damage without you having to acquire any special
weapons. He starts off with high level black magic spells as well.

- [ Unique Attack: Impulse ] -

This attack can sometimes do as much damage as your Overdrive and it will
hit all opponents.

- [ Overdrive: Mega Flare ] -

Non-elemental attack that negates all barriers. Ultimate damage to all
opponents.

---------------------------------
[ Ifrit ]
---------------------------------

Ifrit can cast fire magic on himself to heal. He is found inside Kilika
Temple after the Cloister of Trials. He can deal over 9999 if your strength
is higher enough and if Wakka's World Chapion is upgraded.

- [ Unique Attack: Meteor Strike ] -

This will hit the opponent all the time from any distance. Protect will
not shield against it.

- [ Overdrive: Hellfire ] -

Deal ultimate fire damage against all opposition.

---------------------------------
[ Ixion ]
---------------------------------

Ixion can cast Thunder spells on himself to heal. Once you have Kimahri's
Spirit Lance and if your strength is high enough, Ixion can deal over 9999
damage.

- [ Unique Attack: Aerospark ] -

Strike an opponent from a far away distance and nullify and protective spell.

- [ Overdrive: Thor's Hammer ] -

Deal ultimate lightning damage to all opposition.

-----------------------------
[ Magus Sisters ]
-----------------------------

These three sisters made their first appearance in Final Fantasy IV, now
after Golbez is gone they aid those willing to find them. Now, depending
on what you choose will determine what the Magus Sisters do. Sometimes the
Sisters will take a break, usually Mindy or Cindy...Sandy is a bit more
reliable than the other two sisters.

Do what you will. | Depends on who you ask, but Auto-Life or a special attack
| can occur.
Fight! | Perform a regular attack.
Defense! | Shell, Protect, Regen, or Reflect will be casted.
Help Each Other! | Heal another sister.
One More Time! | Much like Copycat, but you can't perform the Overdrive
| again.
Go! Go! | This will cause multiple reactions. A special attack or
| magic spells will occur.

- [ Unique Attack: Camisade, Passado, Razzia ] -

Passado is a physical attack against one opponent, Camisade is a fire
attack, and Razzia, which is the best of all three, attacks the opponent
15 times with her Stinger...each hit dealing 1500 HP initially, even more
when your strength increases. Note that Razzia is the strongest Unique
Attack in the game, doing 99999 damage practically every time you use it.

- [ Overdrive: Delta Attack ] -

This is arguably the most powerful attack in the game that rivals the
Oblivion. All three sisters must be in Overdrive mode, then a new command
"Combine Powers!" will appear.

--------------------------------- [ Shiva ] ---------------------------------

Shiva can cast ice spells on herself to heal. She can deal over 9999 damage
if you upgraded Lulu's Onion Knight and if your strength is high enough.

- [ Unique Attack: Heavenly Strike ] -

This ice attack will delay an opponent's turn for one round.

- [ Overdrive: Diamond Dust ] -

Deal ultimate ice damage to all opponents.

--------------------------------
[ Valefor ]
--------------------------------

Valefor isn't too strong compared to other Aeons, but has high accuracy and
can dodge most ground attacks. Yuna's Nirvana will allow Valefor to deal
damage higher than 9999...provided your strength is high enough. He is
found initially in Besaid Temple.

- [ Unique Attack: Sonic Wings ] -

Delays enemies' attacks. One target.

- [ Overdrive: Energy Ray, Energy Blast ] -

Energy Blast will do more damage but takes more time to recover. Return to
Besaid and talk with a girl next to a dog in Besaid Temple or in the item
shop and talk with her.

--------------------------------
[ Yojimbo ]
--------------------------------

Yojimbo will attack depending on how much money you pay him. He is found in
the Cavern of Stolen Fayth.

- [ Unique Attacks: Daigoro, Kozuka, Wakizashi, Zanmato ] -

All attacks are random...Zanmato means instant death at times...depending on
how much an opponent can defend against it. I personally just pay Yojimbo
1 Gil every time. He does 9999 damage every time anyways, but when you
upgrade Auron's weapons and you fight those Original Creations in the
Monster Arena it's best to pay him 10 gil. Don't spend all your money or
too much money when the Overdrive hits...it's never a guarantee that the
Overdrive will come out. You can pay him 1 Gil and have the Overdrive
come out. You just have to be aware of your chances, but the more you pay
him...the more chances that an Overdrive will be induced. If you pay him
0 at any time, he will Dimiss himself from battle.

===========================================================
Zanarkland
Party: Tidus
Enemies: Sinscale, Sinspawn Ammes
Items: Longsword
Key Items: None
===========================================================

As you start the game talk with the people around you, and as soon as your
through signing autographs just walk around till the preparation for the
Blitzball match occurs. Walk your way through the people and to the stadium,
and after a long and dynamic FMV you'll find yourself in the heat of battle.
Apparently this "Sin" is the source of havoc, and you find Tidus and Auron
defending themselves. Just hack and slash away at the Sinscales; they only
have 100 HP and Tidus and Auron can both take them down with one hit. So
save your Overdrives for the upcoming boss later, if by a chance you did
earn them.

Several of these Sinscales will get in your way, and you'll have no choice,
but to fight them. Try to avoid attacking the ones that come from behind
since your main goal is to run towards the larger target.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Boss: Sinspawn Ammes/Sincales HP: 1000(1000)/100
-----------------------------------------------------------
This battle cannot kill Tidus and Auron if you destroy the Sinscales first.
The boss will always cast Demi, cutting down your HP in half each time. So
anybody familiar with this spell would know that it cannot kill. Avoid
healing since it will do you no good until after the battle and just attack
as normal. Also, regardless of whether or not you earned an Overdrive in the
previous battles or not, you will have your guages nearly full. You probably
won't be able to perform the Overdrive motions in the amount of time they
give you, but that's okay! You'll learn to master them later as you see it
more often, and as it builds your way into your long term memory.

There's a save point just behind the defeated Sinspawn Ammes. Feel free to
save your game.

After the battle keep running, you'll encounter a swarm of these Sinscales.
You'll have to wait a while and have Auron tell you about destroying the
generator to the right. Unfortunately the last battle left you pretty weak,
and you can't attack the generator before Auron signifies to do so.
